Favorite Brand Post

My Favorite Brand:  CorePower Yoga
Currently my favorite brand is CorePower Yoga….it is a “Macy’s” for yogis of all types; beginners to experts – it is bringing yoga to the masses.  Yoga is no longer the “hippy” workout and the base of those practicing is growing expeditiously.  Presently they have 3 locations in Chicago and are growing.  I have been to the Chicago Maple Street and the Lincoln Park location.  They both have a clean cool design and sale just a bit of overpriced yoga gear (mats & clothes) if you need something on the fly.  One disappointing observation for both locations is that the front desk staff should be more welcoming/ inviting, more – maybe I should say at least try…..  It is already a bit intimidating when entering a new facility and not know how the studio works soooo if the people at the desk were happy and welcoming it would really kick start your  visit off on a good foot.  But now on to better areas to focus  on; the PowerFlow class was taught by a young lady who you could tell was enthusiastic about the practice; I liked her and appreciated her passion and I feel that is what yoga is about. What I also value about CorePower are the e-Blasts….they are not only informative: teaching a new pose, but they also share community news and events.   Which has what has lead me to what will be my blog….Chicago Yoga Social Scene.

  1. I have been dabbling in potential yoga classes. I'm hoping it would be a good fit for my new health living plan. My only issue is that I do not have any patience at all.

  2. I really like Yoga. Having practiced Hatha Yoga for about eight years, I've been on hyatus now for about two years. I need a relaxed class environment--no competitiveness, and an instructor that understands "older" bodies. Price is also a factor. Can you recommend such a class located in the Loop for less than $15/class?

  3. Yes, there are classes for free!!! Check out www.corepoweryoga.com and they sponsor classes on Wednesday evenings in OZ Park and Sunday mornings in the Damen location. Most likely the Michigan Ave location has free events too. You can also sign up for www.105F.com for the first month it is unlimited for $30. Tons of places to check out for little costs :)
